I was commissioned by Mira Festival to create a unique visual performance for Andy Stott’s first live show in Barcelona following the release of Faith in Strangers. The performance combined rendered and generative material, all controlled and manipulated live.

With no set list and entirely unreleased tracks, I built a flexible setup that supported real-time improvisation. I used After Effects and Trapcode to develop pre-rendered sequences and Quartz Composer for generative elements.

Everything was performed using 2V-P, which I was working with at the time, alongside a custom iPad interface I designed in Lemur. The setup allowed me to respond intuitively to Andy’s set and create a stripped-back connection between image and sound. 2V-P had a minimal, clean interface and prioritised visual control over traditional VJ-style effects.
